From the Morpeth Herald of 24 December 1915. (With regard to the advert on the left, I visited the Herald office, then still at 19 Bridge Street, in 1988, but few of the items listed were in sight, and certainly not the bibles and hymns or 'Children's Friend'.)

Merry Christmas to all!

The official 2012 video, it seems (corrected from my earlier impression that it was this year's):

Full review promised to Mr Connors at This Way Up, so I will be very brief:

I had so much to write up - about The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (cumbersome title but I'm being pedantic); about Missing Believed Wiped at the National Film Theatre; and about my Christmas lunch with TOGW. The problem is that I'm up to my neck in Christmas one way or the other - either because I haven't written cards/bought presents, or because I've got too many parties to go to (me, of all people, too many parties...) or because there is so much 2005-wrapping that I just don't have time to do before I go to Newcastle (via London and Milton Keynes, which is a long way round, but that's another story for another time).
