I've been trying to fall asleep while listening to the radio, and have been drawn into controversy, or what passes for it between the song tracks in the early hours of the morning. Radio 2's Janice Long and her listeners had been trying to sort out first, the identity of a programme which turned out to be The Good Old Days, and secondly, whether Leonard Sachs and Andrew Sachs were father and son. A listener had pointed to a website on TGOD which said that Andrew Sachs was Leonard's son. I was sure this wasn't so.
A few checking of books and Googles later, I'd shown that I appeared to be right, and added that Leonard Sachs is the father of Buffy's Ethan Rayne, Robin Sachs, while Andrew Sachs's son John is a radio and TV presenter. ("He presented Gladiators, didn't he?" said Janice, who was enjoying resenting being corrected).
I don't like misinformation being spread where I know I can correct it - or at least, that's my excuse.
