In response to a tagging by
louisedennis
Here are the rules:
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.
2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.
3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.
4. At the end of your blog, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.
5. Don't forget to leave them a comment telling them they're tagged, and to read your blog. (I'm not entirely sure this is necessary in the case of mutual LJ-friends; it seems more applicable to the wider blogosphere.)
1. The garden of the house I lived in when I was five included a section of abandoned railway embankment and trackbed.
2. The first Doctor Who fanzine contribution I made was a chronology of the Target novelizations, based on a mixture of memory and research in Whitaker's British Books in Print for DWB, published early in 1984 with additions by the editor, Gary Levy. There were a lot of mistakes, not all the result of my supposition based on the old 'Also available in the Target series' lists which appeared on the verso short title pages of the books up until Doctor Who and the Power of Kroll.
3. My first computer was a ZX Spectrum. After I failed to get Basic to do anything that I wanted it to do, it was mainly used for playing Computer Scrabble with my grandmother, who developed a deep rivalry with the programme.
4. I have only once - no, three times, thinking about it - been in somewhere that could be called a nightclub.
5. Both my cars have been red Vauxhall Astras. (I doubt that the next one will be.)
6. The first non-UK country visited by me was Canada.
7. I have been about a sentence away from completing a book proposal for about three months.
8. I am phobic about wasps, and become emotionally inflamed when trying to remove them from a room or, indeed, life, leading to my use of pseudo-medieval language which used to bemuse and amuse my staunchly modernist work colleagues.

kargicq, I'm not going to tag anyone, but would be happy to read the submissions of anyone reading this.
