A happy evening at the Proms with
pellegrina; probably the most accessible evening in my limited experience, with a jolly Stravinsky, 'Dunbarton Oaks'; something by another composer with an Eastern European name but a solid vocal part for Ian Bostridge; a lighter Wagner than I was expecting; and some oft-played Mozart. The orchestra were very impressive considering that they had rehearsed the evening in the last few days, as the original orchestra had been unable to come from New York due to current travel restrictions.
Now I will try to get to sleep as I have a busy day planned at the National Archives and the British Library tomorrow.
