Probably the best episode of Spooks there has been in a long time, and perhaps the best of its latterday heightened fantasy-adventure era. The layered psychological deconstructions were credible and set up a symmetry which will pay off in the final episode of this series. As Lucas said, we believe in abstracts bigger than ourselves; it's when either that faith is not repaid or one becomes convinced of one's unworthiness that everything can go wrong.
