It's been a while since I caught up with any of Henry Jenkins's work. His Textual Poachers was a pioneering study of media SF fandom; published in the pre-internet era, it now reads as a historical text rather than as an analysis of a contemporary phenomenon, but it remains very relevant as the first study to recognise that fans are not passive consumers but actively reshape the series they follow into new creative works. I've learned from the LJ Doctor Who community that he's recently published an interview with Cardiff academic and Doctor Who fan Matt Hills, who is working on a book on the post-2005 Doctor Who series. Matt was at the Manchester conference I attended in 2004, though we didn't speak. I've not finished reading it yet, but thought I'd post the links anyway:
