Returned...

...I'm back in Woodstock on what might be the hottest day of the year. My parents are staying tonight; the windows are open and the fans and dehumidifier are on. It's very uncomfortable and I've already ended up drenching myself as a result of trying to drink too much water at once. This was not actually a bad thing given the heat.

I did have an enjoyable time away, and must write up the hotel in Kirkcudbrightshire (my sister's boyfriend thought it was like Fawlty Towers from her description) and the family party on Saturday, if only to record the activities of my goddaughter. Sample:

Elderly in-law: "What have you enjoyed most about this afternoon?"
Goddaughter: "Kicking parrot_knight!"
