I'm actually listening to the Radio 4 dramatisation of Terry Pratchett's Small Gods at the moment, and it's not bad. I've been disparaging about Pratchett in recent years, and while I doubt I'll ever be a fan, I've probably overdone it. I've felt under a lot of pressure to like Pratchett at various points, and the book concerned in one attempt was Small Gods. While I still find it a bit predictable and often annoyingly knowing, and some of the names very painful in a bad way, these aside the characterization isn't bad and there's certainly attention to plot and motivation which deserve some praise.
