I'm up late, tidying the flat before my parents arrive for a couple of nights at lunchtime today. (This is perhaps not so last minute as it sounds - I have lots of books, papers of various sorts which I want or just need to keep, and have had laundry to finish off before Christmas, as well as shopping and some freelance research work. So, this isn't going to be long, but I wanted to post this link to an interview Russell T Davies made about Doctor Who and the state of British television in general to the New Statesman. My thoughts on reading it included sympathy with his judgement on the injustice of sacking Richard Marson as editor of Blue Peter; but I disagree with his comments on whether the researcher took the right course of action in manufacturing a competition winner, nor do I share his admiration of Big Brother.
