Torchwood

Fans of a certain omnisexual Time Agent in the last series of Doctor Who can now look forward to his appearance in a new series by the name of Torchwood. See The Independent for more details, and the front page of the Doctor Who website has been amended to reflect the announcement.

DSoc barbecue

This was really good, despite the small turnout. I made the minor but important contribution to the barbecue (in October? Yes, in October) of suggesting that more coal be added to the mix, as wood does not burn so well in these parts. My vegetarian sausages were the best I had ever tasted - didn't manage to have any of SSG's from David John in the Covered Market, however, but I must remind myself to investigate further. Another reason to wish that I still lived in Oxford! Perhaps they could be imported for the next SocT banquet, as that's where we've traditionally got the chickens from.
