Well, not a bad first day at Freshers' Fair for DSoc. We had about forty names by the end of the day, I think, despite being in a poky room off the main circuit. SSG's positive spin was that this meant that we wouldn't have to waste time on people who hadn't wanted to find us, but I have plenty of anecdotal evidence that lots of people have great difficulty in navigating Freshers' Fair.
The remarkable thing, for this old fan, was that about half the signatories were women; and most of the women were enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the programme. It wasn't like this when I was eighteen.
