There's something about this 1964 Radio Times cutting which reminds me that Susan and Doctor Who were indeed born in "another time, another world".

Carole Ann Ford had a very exotic look about her, but not "standard" exotic, if that makes sense.

It does make sense; her facial expressions can easily be interpreted as those of a bearer of otherworldy knowledge.
